Going on the hunt for the Holden Astra glovebox shark
One Green Bean and Holden are taking viewers into the mean streets of suburban Sydney for a mockumentary video about the “fabled” Holden Astra glovebox shark.
The one minute thirty video is voiced by celebrity impersonator Colin Cassidy discussing the shark’s habitat in a David Attenborough style documentary.
“Australia, a land of ancient tales and fables,” the video opens with.
The video discuses the shark’s diet of “broken sunnies and hastily stowed fast food wrappers” and why there is “no reasonable explanation for this majestic creature’s existence”.
Natalie Davey, general manager of marketing communications and digital at Holden, said in a statement: ““We know that Aussies are fascinated by sharks and are curious about the mystery and legend surrounding the ultimate ocean predator.
“At Holden, we like to celebrate the unique and unusual, yet it is a mystery to us why this shark has taken up home in the Astra glove box.
“We want all Aussies to keep a look out for the beast while driving their Astra this Shark Week,” Davey said.
The video was created as only 1% of Australian’s are aware of the shark hidden on the side of the glove box.

Woeful. Love the massive typo in the super. And that’s the highlight.

Wow. They signed off on this as a final edit? Boring. Way too long. Low production values. They clearly had a low budget to give to the production company on this one. Either make it properly or don’t make it at all.
