4BC announces new program and host for weekends

Brisbane listeners will wake up to a familiar voice on a brand-new program when radio presenter Spencer Howson begins hosting 4BC Weekends on Saturday, 16 January and Sunday, 17 January 2021.

Howson is the latest addition to an expanding lineup of local programming and presenters as 4BC brings Queenslanders the stories that matter and news they can trust.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Spencer to host 4BC Weekends. His success and experience presenting on Brisbane radio is revered, he’s a Brisbane local who is passionate about local news, and he’s set to do big things in 2021,” said Max Dudley, 4BC’s Content Manager.

“I’m looking forward to a new challenge, setting that early alarm again and getting back in the studio to bring a new wave of Brisbane listeners all the latest information to get them through their weekends,” Howson said.

Howson is a highly experienced presenter, with 25 years in radio, and he hosted Brisbane’s most listened to breakfast show for 11 years. More recently he became a lecturer and tutor at the University of Southern Queensland, teaching the next generation of media presenters.

4BC Weekends goes to air in Brisbane from 9.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday, January 16 and Sunday, January 17, 2021.
