6 more Cannes Lions awarded to 4 Australian and NZ agencies

A total of four Australian and New Zealand agencies have taken home a total of six awards at Cannes Lions overnight, with Ogilvy Sydney and AKQA Melbourne both winning two awards.

The winners were announced on Thursday for the Brand Experience & Activation Lions, the Creative Business Transformation Lions, Creative ECommerce Lions, Mobile Lions, Radio & Audio Lions, Innovation Lions and Creative Effectiveness Lions.

AKQA Melbourne has been awarded a Gold and and Silver Lion overnight. The agency won Gold for its collaboration in the Code of Conscience campaign led by AKQA Sao Paolo.

In collaboration with Instituto Raoni and global NGOs, AKQA launched an open source software, Code of Conscience, in order to restrict the use of heavy-duty vehicles on protected land areas, preserving some of the world’s most sacred nature reserves.

The agency also won a Silver Lion in the Radio & Audio category for its sound design work on the Action Audio campaign for Tennis Australia.

Ogilvy Sydney won two Bronze Lions in the Brand and Activation category for its work with KFC. One for Customer Acquisition and Retention, for its Secret Menu, and one for 360 Integrated Brand Experience, with the ‘Michelin Impossible’ KFC campaign.

Other winners included Clemenger BBDO Sydney in the Brand Activation category, winning a Bronze Lion (Sponsorship & Brand Partnership) for its work on Rexona’s Pitvertising campaign. Special New Zealand also won a Bronze Lion in the Mobile category (Co-creation & User Generated Content) for the ‘Good Morning’ campaign with Tourism New Zealand.

Yesterday, the winners for the Digital Craft Lions, Industry Craft Lions, Film Craft Lions, Entertainment Lions for Sport, Entertainment Lions for Music and Entertainment Lions were announced.

On Wednesday the winners for the Creative Data Lions, Creative Strategy Lions, Direct Lions, Media Lions, PR Lions, and Social & Influencer Lions were announced, seeing 12 Australian and New Zealand companies take home a total of 16 Lions.

On Tuesday the winners were also announced for Design Lions, Outdoor Lions, Print & Publishing Lions, Health & Wellness Lions and Pharma Lions, with six Australian and New Zealand companies taking home wins.

There is one more day of awards to come before the close of the Cannes Lions festival.
