617,000 metro viewers tune in to watch MAFS’ Cam and Jules get married on A Current Affair

Despite already getting married at first sight, Cameron Merchant and Jules Robinson welcomed A Current Affair to their ‘real’ wedding in a 90 minute special on Tuesday night which saw 617,000 metro viewers tune in.

The couple are the first to get legally married after taking part in Married At First Sight – Nine’s juggernaut reality dating format – and their nuptials and the lead up to it were covered by Nine presenter Sylvia Jeffreys for ACA.

The special was the most-watched entertainment program last night and sixth most-watched overall by metro audiences. 861,000 national viewers tuned in for the event.

Seven News was the most-watched overall, 942,000 metro and 1.46m national viewers tuned in, while Nine News drew 809,000 metro and 1.08m nationally. ABC News was watched by 625,000 metro and 936,000 nationally.

Home and Away was the next most popular entertainment program with 566,000 metro viewers. The Amazing Race Australia brought 553,000 to Ten and Zumbo’s Just Desserts 359,000 to Seven.

The premiere episode of ABC’s Love On The Spectrum brought 390,000 metro viewers and 567,000 nationally. Zumbo also managed 567,000 national viewers, while 748,000 watched The Amazing Race.

The Amazing Race topped all three of the key advertising demographics – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s – followed by Seven News in the latter two and One Born Every Minute Australia in the youngest. One Born Every Minute Australia brought in 309,000 metro viewers total.

Despite that, Nine was the most-watched channel with metro audiences in the 25-54 demographic, holding a 19.7% share. Ten was most-watched by metro audiences 16-39 (21.0%).

Nine took the total people win for the night with a channel audience share of 18.4% and a network share of 28.5%. Seven held 17.4% as a channel and 27.3% as a network, while Ten held 11.9% and 19.0%. ABC held 11.9% and 16.9%.

7mate was the most-watched multi-channel with a 5.2% share.
