Debut Dancing With The Stars takes Seven to Sunday win
Ten’s MasterChef was Sunday’s most watched program but a strong debut for the new series of Dancing With The Stars helped Seven to a ratings win for the day.
In an extremely competitive night, 6.30pm was a key battleground. Dancing With The Stars averaged nearly 1.6m viewers, according to preliminary TV ratings from OzTam. Ten’s Merlin, also starting at 6.30pm, rated 1.4m and Nine’s Random Acts of Kindness did 1.2m.
But MasterChef’s sausage-making challenge gave the show its best audience yet with almost 2m tuning in. However only 1.3m stuck around for the stars of Harry Potter on Rove afterwards.
Meanwhile, Nine’s Hugh Grant romcom Music And Lyrics tanked with only 800,000 viewers.
