745,000 metro viewers tune in for I’m A Celebrity’s first elimination

Ten’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here has had its first elimination of the 2020 season with 745,000 metro viewers tuning in to watch Dilruk Jayasinha leave the jungle. 1.033m national viewers watched the elimination.

The episode leading up to the final moments drew 734,000 metro viewers and 1.017m nationally. The show will be introducing another new celebrity during Sunday’s episode.

The elimination and the episode leading up to it were the two most-watched programs in all three of the key advertising demographics – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s.

Elsewhere on Thursday night, Seven’s Big Bash League coverage of the Sydney Sixers vs the Hobart Hurricanes drew 287,000 metro viewers for the first session. The game was played in Sydney and was rained out after less than half an hour, resulting in just 153,000 metro viewers for the second session.

Nine’s programming for the evening was a repeat of 20 to One which drew 324,000 metro viewers. The most-watched entertainment programming on Nine was Hot Seat with 388,000 metro viewers.

The most-watched program overall on Thursday was Seven News with 873,000 metro viewers and 1.371m national. Nine News drew 757,000 and 1.014m and ABC News 658,000 and 936,000.

Nine took the crown for the night overall, holding a channel share of 17.1% and a network share of 26.0%. Seven held 13.9% and 25.9% and Ten 16.2% and 23.9%. ABC secured 9.6% and 15.7% and SBS 3.4% and 8.6%. 7TWO was the most-watched multi-channel on 5.0%.
