934,000 metro viewers tune in for the premiere of Have You Been Paying Attention? season eight

Have You Been Paying Attention? has had its biggest launch ever with 934,000 metro viewers tuning in on Monday night for the premiere episode in the comedy panel show’s eighth season. Nationally 1.242m viewers watched the program. It was the show’s second-biggest audience ever.

Last year, 787,000 watched season seven’s first episode and 2018 saw 808,000 tune in.

The show also topped the youngest key advertising demographic, 16-39s, and held second place in the two older demographic segments, 18-49s and 25-54s.

Elsewhere on Ten, 877,000 metro viewers tuned in for Masterchef Australia – Back To Win. 1.135m watched nationally. In the same slot, Nine’s Lego Masters drew 1.089m metro viewers and 1.449m nationally, making it the most-watched entertainment program of the night and sitting as the top show with 18-49s and 25-54s.

Seven’s House Rules: High Stakes drew 625,000 metro viewers and 1m nationally. Seven News was the most-watched program overall for the night, drawing 1.346m metro viewers and 2.057m nationally. Nine News brought in 1.11m metro viewers and 1.471m nationally.

Overall, Nine took the win for the night with a primary channel audience share of 21.7% and 27.9% as a network. Seven held a primary channel share of 17.6% and a network share of 26.2%, while Ten secured 16.7% and 21.9%. ABC held a primary channel share of 13.5% and 16.7% as a network. The most-watched multi-channel was 7Mate with 3.5%.
