96 FM cancels ‘Paul & Lise’ breakfast show

Australian Radio Network’s 96FM in Perth will soon unveil a new breakfast show, as the network revealed its hosts Paul Hogan and Lisa Fernandez would not be returning after the mid-year survey break.

In the most recent radio ratings survey, released on 4 June, 96 FM had a 7.1% share in breakfast, behind rivals Nova 93.7 (13.1%), Mix 94.5 (12.9%), and Hit 92.9 (8.3%).

ARN, however, said the axing was part of a review of the station’s strategy and direction.

Duncan Campbell, ARN’s national content director, thanked Hogan and Fernandez for their hard work.

“We would like to thank Paul and Lise for their contribution to 96FM and our Perth listeners over these past 18 months,” he said. “Since they started, the station has recorded its highest ever cumulative audience. Paul and Lise are talented professionals and we wish them well for the future.”
