9Honey team launches first podcast ‘Super Mums’

Online women’s network, 9Honey, has launched its first dedicated podcast ‘Super Mums‘.

While the network previously ran Sweet Spot, a podcast which supported Nine’s Married at First Sight and The Last Resort, the latest podcast is the first to be put together by the 9Honey team.

‘Super Mums’: 9Honey’s first dedicated podcast

Hosted by 9Mums editor, Kelly Baker, and journalist, Melinda Arye, the podcast is aimed at women who feel the pressure to be “super mums.”

The first episode will cover topics including what to do when you love your child but don’t like them, breastfeeding, and will feature an interview with Today Extra presenter, Sonia Kruger.

Kerri Elstub, network editor at 9Honey said the new content “will resonate” with readers.

“The chemistry between Kelly and Mel is incredible and you instantly feel like you are listening in on what is a fun and really interesting conversation,” said Elstub.

“Over the past nine months 9Honey has firmly established itself as a leader in the online women’s lifestyle space, with a unique audience of 1.473 million.

“I’m extremely excited about the launch of Super Mums, our first dedicated podcast for 9Honey, as we know it is content that will resonate with our readers,” she said.

Commenting on the name of the podcast, Baker said she wanted something “firmly tongue-in-cheek.”

“Do I think I’m a super mum? God no. The title is ironic and something both Mel and I giggle over. After all, what is a super mum?” she said.

Ayre added her friendship with Baker will sit at the ‘core’ of the podcast.

“Kelly and I have known each other for over 15 years and have seen each other through three weddings, two husbands, four children, two divorces, one split, an array of dangerous liaisons, tears, laughter, hugs, hilarity and a truckload of champagne,” said Ayre.

“I’m not sure exactly where the podcast will go but I know it will be a lot of fun.”
