A monster hoax

The first, from the UK’s Daily Telegraph, posted yesterday: “Monster slipper revealed as PR hoax”
And, from news.com.au, posted at 9.49am today: “Now that’s what you call a big mistake: Missed decimal point results in monster slipper”
Update: news.com.au has added the following footnote (whout changing the story itself: “But is the story as manufactured as the big slipper? The Guardian in the UK reveals a telling Twitter trail which could well and truly give this yarn the boot.”
