The announcement:

Australian Associated Press has expanded its creative content services with the launch of AAP Studio

Harnessing the power of the national news agency and driven by a team of Melbourne-based media strategists, creatives and developers, AAP Studio will offer a new approach to branded content and creative media and newsroom solutions.

“This is the right time for AAP to build more creative partnerships with corporates, universities, governments, media and other agencies,” said AAP CEO Bruce Davidson.

“For more than 80 years, AAP has been at the forefront of breaking news coverage across Australia and, more recently, we have forged partnerships with brands and organisations to provide storytelling of a different kind,” Davidson said.

“AAP Studio’s content continues the tradition of accuracy and reliability for our media partners. It taps into a national network of talent to produce captivating design and compelling content. Most importantly, we understand the mechanics of modern media, ensuring your message reaches the right audience.”

The AAP Studio team already has a roster of successful work, including delivery of this year’s highly successful #WISPAA photo competition, which saw The Kick – the iconic photo of AFLW star Tayla Harris – take out top honours, the rollout of a digital content strategy to regional newspapers, including Mildura’s Sunraysia Daily, and the design and build of award-winning independent news site newsroom.co.nz. Other high-profile partners include Nine, University of Tasmania and Male Champions of Change.

Powering the AAP Studio team are Head of Strategy Liam Runnalls, Head of Creative Travis Lewis, Art Director Anita Belia, Senior Project Manager Cyhtle Heal, Operations Manager Luke Donnelley and General Manager Antony Phillips.
