ABC axes The Drum after 13-year run
The ABC has announced The Drum will air its final episode this Friday, after a 13-year run.
ABC News director Justin Stevens called it “a difficult decision” that will result in some job cuts.

So disappointed ABC, but not surprised. Just another Ita/Morrison attack on our national broadcaster. The Drum is a program that should be promoted to a larger demographic by moving it to a later time slot. It’s diverse, it’s intelligent, it demonstrates how thinking people can listen and discuss respectfully. The topics are relevant and brought to air by subject matter experts with lived experiences. The diversity of panel members represents our society like no other program. The hosts, particularly Julia, are to be congratulated. A further downward slide ABC, not to mention the loss of more talented staff. Maggie Alderdice
