Dr Mumbo

ABC has the first – and last – word on bloopers

There are many TV blooper reels out there.

Which is good for Dr Mumbo, as they may just be his favourite waste of time.

But one of the more authoritative aggregators, if there’s such a thing, is the News be Funny channel.

So Dr Mumbo hopes that Natasha Exelby understands the deep honour that has been bestowed upon her by being chosen to open the News Be Funny compilation for the first half of 2017.

It was just a second for Exelby on the ABC’s News 24 channel. But now it’s posterity.

By contrast, Amber Sherlock’s #Jacketgate fight had to wait until the ninth minute.

Fair to say that in bloopers, Australian TV punches above its weight.

Better yet, not only did the global roundup open with ABC awkwardness, it closed with it too.

Plus, it’s a splendid way of spending 15 minutes on a Monday.
