ABC heads of factual and documentaries appointed
Jennifer Collins has been appointed head of factual at ABC TV; a role that has been expanded and will now supervise the heads of documentaries and sports of events.
Alan Erson was named head of documentaries, in charge of development and commissioning.
Collin’s previous work includes Poh’s Kitchen and supervision of Q&A, Collectors, Gardening Australia and Catalyst. She is expected to be responsible for 900 hours of programming
Erson held positions at the BBC, CBC (Canada), Discovery and National Geographic. At the ABC, he’s been commissioning editor for science, history and natural history docos, overseeing more than 115 hours of programming and online projects.
