ABC Radio rebrands stations as it moves away from frequency labels

ABC Radio is rolling out new branding across its 44 regional bureaux.

Ten regional stations are dropping the frequencies from their titles and two stations are undergoing significant name changes to better identify their local region.

The new branding follows the ABC Capital City radio brand update rolled out two years ago, and will be heard across broadcast platforms as well as being seen across social media, apps, websites and third-party platforms.

In a statement regarding the rebrand, ABC said that as audiences are increasingly accessing content via digital platforms, a consistent identity across broadcast, online and mobile will make it easier for them to identify stations quickly and easily.

There will be no change to programming and local presenters will continue to cover the same region and bring audiences the same local stories, the ABC said.
