ABC snags Koala’s Sally Phelps for its new head of media role

The ABC has today appointed Sally Phelps as its new head of media and will commence in the role effective immediately.

Phelps is a media professional who joins the ABC most recently from Koala, where she had been the director, of media and performance.

Before joining Koala, Phelps spent a decade with Starcom, working across major clients and digital media. Sally started her career at WIN TV, before spending several years working in media in London.

ABC director of audiences, Leisa Bacon, commented: “We’re delighted to have Sally join our team. Sally has enjoyed an incredible career with great experience in key areas of media and digital, which we are building out at the ABC. She’s held a variety of senior roles across both media agencies and client side. This experience sets her up well to lead and support ABC’s fantastic in-house Media Team into the future.”

Phelps said of her appointment: “I am thrilled to be joining the ABC, such an iconic Australian organisation. As part of Leisa’s team, I look forward to continuing to grow audience connections to the ABC and the incredible platforms and content.”\
