ABCs: Newspapers’ circulation fall continues
Only four newspapers failed to avoid decline in the latest set of Audit Bureau of Circulation numbers published today.
News Ltd’s Saturday edition of The Daily Telegraph and weekday edition of The Adelaide Advertiser crept up, while Fairfax’s Sunday Age and Sun-Herald did likewise.
But every other paper saw decline compared to the same period a year before, with the weekday edition of the NT News worst hit, followed by The Sunday Times in WA
In the battle for the lucrative Sydney Saturday market, the gap narrowed again, with just 13,864 copies separating the Sydney Morning Herald and the Daily Telegraph compared to the previous gap of 31,422.
Marginal decreases which overall doesn’t look too bad when you compare against magazines…..but seriously Tim, does this surprise you given the free alternatives of digital news outlets????
