Accolade Wines app helps users locate BYO restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne
Media agency MEC has produced an app for Accolade Wines that enables smart phone users to find BYO restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne.

SYDNEY, 17 December 2012: MEC has together with Fairfax Media created a smartphone app for Accolade Wines, helping users find the best BYO restaurants and the perfect bottle of wine to accompany their meal.
The Brookland Valley BYO Restaurant Guide app, available for free on the iTunes store, taps into Fairfax Media publications’ restaurant reviews, including The Age and Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food Guides, Cheap Eats and Everyday Eats, allowing users to search more than 300 of the best BYO restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne.
Once a user has chosen a restaurant, they can use the app’s wine index to find suitable wines from the Brookland Valley, Margaret River range, as well as a wide selection of other Australian wines, and locate their closest bottle shop. Through the app, users can also share restaurant recommendations via email, Facebook and Twitter.
Accolade Wines is supporting the app with a media campaign throughout Fairfax print and online titles.
MEC Chief Executive Officer Peter Vogel said: “In uncertain economic times, people choose to dine out at BYO restaurants to curb the cost of a night out. Our task was to increase outside-of-home consumption of Brookland Valley wines and an app that makes it easy to find a BYO restaurant while promoting our client’s range of wines was the perfect solution.”
