ACMA launches social media strategy
The Australian Communications and Media Authority unveiled its Gov2.0 engagement strategy, driven by former Sydney Morning Herald executive director Tom Burton.
The purpose, ACMA chairman and CEO, is to use new technologies to improve the agency’s engagement and external communications with stakeholders. Gov2.0 will employ services such as Facebook, wikis, blogs, YouTube, Flickr, Twitter to give users more open access to ACMA’s information and processes. ACMA is responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, the internet, radiocommunications and telecommunications.
Burton has returned to Australia from the US, where he helped implement Gov2.0 practices. He will start with ACMA on February 1.
