ACP launches Magshop app

Digital replicas of 16 ACP magazine titles are to be made available on iTunes via the publisher’s new Magshop app.

The announcement:

ACP Magazines continues to lead Australian publishing onto new digital platforms with the release of Australia’s first digital newsstand iPad application.

The Magshop app is now live in the iTunes Store and is the county’s only multi-title digital magazine delivery platform for the booming tablet market.

ACP was the first publishing company in Australia to create magazine iPad apps and again sets the pace with its digital magazine distribution service.

“Audiences should be able to access our great mastheads anywhere, and at any time, and the release of this application is the next step in our broader digital distribution strategy,” said ACP Magazines Managing Director, Phil Scott.

“Magazines have always been a highly engaging medium and tablet devices provide us exciting opportunities to connect with our readers on this platform.”

The app features digital versions of 16 ACP titles across a range of genres, including women’s lifestyle, food, finance, motoring, sport, technology, parenting and entertainment.

Now available as digital editions on a monthly basis are: 4 x 4 Australia, Australasian Dirt Bike, Australian Motorcycle News, Australian Mountain Bike, Cleo, Dolly, Good Food, Inside Cricket, Money, Mother and Baby, Motor, PC User, Recipes Plus, Rolling Stone, Street Machine and Wheels.

The Magshop app is available as a free download, and each magazine’s digital edition is then available for purchase at less than the print issue cover price.

Users can download as many different titles as they like and store their digital editions in the app. They are automatically notified when a new issue of their favourite title becomes available for purchase.

The Magshop app features the largest array of Australian magazines in the app marketplace and a variety of new titles will come online throughout the calendar year.

No other Australian publisher will be able to provide as a broad a range of titles for tablets and mobile devices across such a broad range of categories.

The Magshop app also allows users to manage and renew print subscriptions to all ACP titles, which are available in the online subscription portal, and also find their nearest stockist or newsagent for any of those titles anywhere in Australia.

ACP Digital Director Carl Hammerschmidt added the Magshop app was also being developed for the Android platform to ensure ACP has a presence across the numerous tablet and handheld devices coming onto the market this year.
