The announcement:

ACP Magazines today answers the call of ‘Blockaholics’ across the country with THE BLOCK MAGAZINE 2012.

The definitive companion to the hit Nine Network TV series, THE BLOCK MAGAZINE 2012 follows the success of last year’s special issue.

On sale next Monday (25 June) – a week before The Block 2012 auction airs – THE BLOCK MAGAZINE is edited by Belle Editor-in-Chief and The Block Judge, Neale Whitaker.

Inside the 148-page magazine Blockaholics will find all the information they need about their favourite show, including:

  •  48 pages of The Block 2012 houses – room by room – with all product and furniture details, styling tips and hints as well as judges’ comments
  • ‘OMG’ moments: The Block couples reveal their worst off- and on-camera incidents
  • Bright ideas: recreate all the Blockheads’ best styling ideas
  • Hot bathroom and kitchen trends
  • Renovating 101: kitchens, bathrooms, roof terraces and gardens
  • Behind-the-scenes scoops from The Block challenges
  • Top 25 real estate tips from powerhouse agent and The Block Judge John McGrath
  • The Block Unlocked: secrets exposed (what you didn’t see on the show!)
  • A quiz to find out if you are a true Blockaholic
  • Plus: meet Host Scott Cam; Challenge Master Shelley Craft; judges Shaynna Blaze, John McGrath and Neale Whitaker; and, Foreman Keith (aka ‘The Blockinator’!)

Editor-in-Chief Neale Whitaker said: “Last year fans couldn’t get enough of The Block on-air or in-print with THE BLOCK MAGAZINE one-shot selling out within days. We knew we had to rise to the challenge again in 2012 and in the process we’ve delivered all the inside information and inspiration Blockaholics need to get renovating and recreate their favourite Block looks. THE BLOCK MAGAZINE is the must-have companion to the must-watch TV show.”
THE BLOCK MAGAZINE special has been as successful with advertisers as its sister TV show.
32 pages of advertising have been sold in the magazine to companies including Suzuki, McCafe, IKEA, Winning Appliances, Caesarstone, Black & Decker, Westinghouse and Stegbar.

Louise Barrett, Director of Sales, ACP Magazines, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm our advertisers have shown in embracing THE BLOCK MAGAZINE again this year. This is another great example of the NEC combined media assets delivering maximum impact for our clients.”
The magazine is supported by a 30-second TVC featuring the voice of Host Scott Cam to be shown on the Nine Network. It will also be promoted on THE BLOCK website hosted on ninemsn: http://homes.ninemsn.com.au/theblock/

ACP titles including House & Garden, Real Living, Good Health and Good Food are also publicising the one-shot, while Woman’s Day is carrying a 16-page wraparound sampler of THE BLOCK MAGAZINE next week (25 June issue).

THE BLOCK MAGAZINE 2012 retails for $8.95 and goes on sale next Monday, 25 June, in major newsagents, bookstores, retailers and petrol outlet/convenience stores across the country.

Advance copies will be available at this weekend’s THE BLOCK LIVE 2012! event at Sydney Olympic Park (more information at www.theblocklive.com.au).
The Block 2012 is one of Australia’s biggest hit television shows. Airing six nights a week on the Nine Network it regularly wins its timeslot and is watched by millions of viewers across the country. Eight couples, four eliminations, four dilapidated houses and one winner decided by the toughest judges of all: the buying public.
