The move will see Ferrier united with CEO Sean Cummins, one of Australia’s biggest creative personalities.

Cummins co-founded CumminsRoss with Jason Ross and six others in 2010. Unusually, the agency offers media buying and planning in-house.

Previously Cummins founded – and sold – Cummins & Partners, now known as Sapient Nitro.

Ferrier’s background is as a consumer pyschologist.

Cummins said: “I have known Adam and of his work for years. Whilst he was a fierce competitor and intellect, I couldn’t help myself agreeing with him and wanting to work with him.

“Adam is daring, brave and swashbuckling and he makes people think better. To be able to think radical you must also first be logical. And Adam has a searing commonsense.”

CumminsRoss, which has a staff of around 90.  has its main base in Melbourne with a satellite in Adelaide. There have been persistent rumours of a Sydney launch.  Said Cummins “Our agency is not content with being a boutique in size. ”

Ferrier said “I have watched CumminsRoss grow rapidly and I admire their work. And it is testimony to their culture that they see room at the top for me. And I am thrilled to become a partner and owner of one of Australia’s hottest agencies.

“The other reason I am so attracted to CumminsRoss is that they have quietly put the genie back in the bottle and put creative and media back together. ”

CumminsRoss is currently best known for its “I bought a Jeep” work.

Because of non compete clauses in his contract with Naked, Ferrier is unlikely to start his new role until December.
