Adelaide radio ratings: Ali Clarke quits ABC Adelaide just as ratings surge
ABC Adelaide has finished on top in the final radio ratings survey in Adelaide, on the back of Ali Clarke’s strong performing breakfast show, who quit on Friday.
The move drops ARN’s Mix 102.3 to second spot (down 0.6 percentage points), but it still remains the number one FM station for the 14th consecutive survey on 10.9%.
ABC Adelaide powered ahead in the final radio ratings for the year in GfK survey eight, with a 12.2% audience share – a bump of 0.9 points on last month. ABC has ended the year on top.
ABC’s Clarke has gone out on top – maintaining her lead in the breakfast slot with a rise of 1.6 points to a 17.4% overall share.
“It was heart wrenching to tell my producers Luke Franklin and Eliza Kirsch and very upsetting because the job has been such an important part of my life and I have loved every challenge and minute of it,” Clarke told Adelaide Now’s Sunday Mail.
“The team work extremely hard and we’ve been rewarded with success in the ratings.”
Clarke cited family commitments as the reason behind her decision to leave the show.
5MMM did well in the breakfast slot, with Roo, Ditts & Loz recording a 1.3 points rise to finish on 10.6%.
Making up the numbers in a tight tussle for third spot overall were Cruise1323 (9.9%), 5MMM (9.9%), Fiveaa (9.5%) Nova 91.9 (9.5%).
Nova’s FIVEaa was the biggest mover overall this survey, up 1.3% on last month’s figures. ABC Classic and SAFM saw small dips of 0.7% respectively.
