Adelaide radio ratings: Five AA climbs 3.4 percentage points in breakfast, 2.4 in drive, and 3.2 overall

Five AA’s David Penberthy and Will Goodings jumped 3.4 percentage points in Adelaide’s key breakfast slot to climb to second with a 13.9% share, behind Ali Clarke’s 16.7% on ABC Adelaide.

The result was a much-needed comeback for the hosts – who dropped 3.7 percentage points last survey – and secured the station tied second place overall. In the people 10+ demographic in GfK’s survey two, the last results to be reported for the foreseeable future due to COVID-19, Five AA gained 3.2 points to land a 11.3% share, tying with the ABC and narrowing Mix 102.3’s lead, which fell 0.7 points to an 11.9% share.

The survey, which covers the period of 9 February to 29 February and 1 March to 4 April, also revealed that Ben and Liam dropped 0.2 points for their second survey at Nova (after moving back to Adelaide from a syndicated Triple J program), earning a 9.7% breakfast share. Mix sat between Nova and the leaders, ABC and Five AA, grabbing a 10.6% share due to a one percentage point decline.

Triple M grew by 2.3 percentage points to an 8.9% share, the biggest growth in the slot after Five AA.

Five AA’s percentage point growth was the most impressive in the breakfast slot, and overall, but it also saw significant growth at the end of the day in drive. The station increased its share to 9%, up 2.4 percentage points, but it still wasn’t enough to get close to Kate, Tim and Marty’s 15% share for Nova (down one point).

Mix’s Will and Woody fell 0.5 points in the slot, but maintained second position with 12.1%, followed by Triple J, which surged 2.6 percentage points – the biggest drive-time growth – to finish on a 10.8% share.

Hit 107’s Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little, followed by Ed Kavalee and Dave Hughes, dropped 0.5 points for a 9% share, falling behind Cruise 1323’s 9.7% and tying with Five AA.
