ADMA Data Day hits 10-year anniversary mark

Alanna Gombert, General Manager of Condé Nast USA’s Catalyst Desk, will headline ADMA’s Data Day events in Sydney and Melbourne next April.

Alanna Gombert, General Manager of Condé Nast USA’s Catalyst Desk, will headline ADMA’s Data Day events in Sydney and Melbourne next April.

Alanna oversees programmatic and exchange strategy/ sales for the premium magazine publisher.

She has been confirmed as the event’s first international speaker and is a must-hear for those wanting to learn more about programmatic trading of premium ad space.

Now in its 10th year, ADMA Data Day explores the most up-to-date ways to use data to engage new and existing customers. It will feature a stellar cast of global and local data experts to address delegates at the one-day, two-city event. The theme is Data drives the future: be ready today.

“Big data as a buzzword has lost its sting. Whether your data is big or small, the urgency is in what you do with it. The leaders presenting at ADMA Data Day 2014 will discuss marketing applications with tangible results and will provide insights into what your peers are doing with their data, innovation data applications and how to avoid failure,” said ADMA CEO Jodie Sangster.

“With Data Day’s 10 year anniversary next April, we are aiming to bring in the largest contingent yet of global experts who can give delegates real-world advice on data that they can apply to their own work.”

Alanna Gombert will speak about Trends in programmatic and innovations in premium real-time branding. An expert in real-time branding and how digital ad exchange networks operate, Alanna oversees a staff of four who work on programmatic deals in online advertising and she’ll talk about their work and how the team is now part of a holistic planning cycle.

Alanna joined Condé Nast from Google by way of Admeld where she ran the trading desk, agency and demand-side platform relationships and helped grow RTB from an idea to a killer business.

Alanna is currently also Chair of the IAB’s Programmatic Publishers Task Force where she is leading efforts to ensure programmatic creates value for all stakeholders.

Prior to Admeld, Alanna worked at Right Media, the first online advertising exchange, where she focused on ad selection algorithms and market dynamics. Right Media was acquired by Yahoo in 2007. Her early career included stints with Nielsen, DoubleClick and the finance world with JP Morgan Chase and Commerzbank. Advertising has allowed her to travel the world and she has experience in international markets including EMEA, APAC, and Latin America.

Alanna is also a board member and an advisor to multiple start-ups and non-profits including Girl Develop It, an organisation dedicated to teach women to code.

Locally, Jane Huxley, Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, Pandora will talk about Getting to Know You — how Pandora Internet Radio is using musical DNA and over 40 billion pieces of data to predict which song you’ll enjoy next.

Pandora has begun to make inroads in the local radio advertising market after it hit a million users in November – just under a year since the service launched in Australia. The service adds one new year, ADMA Data Day explores the most up-to-date ways to use data to engage with registered user every 30 seconds and the average listening time for Australian fans is more than two hours per day.

Jane is responsible for the introduction and growth of personalised radio service Pandora to the ANZ market, drawing on her 25 years of strategic business, marketing, sales and change management in the Asia Pacific region.

Her experience in identifying and transitioning companies to digital-based business was heavily cultivated in her prior role at Fairfax Media, Australia’s largest news, information and community website group, where she held the position of CEO and Publisher for the Digital Division (Metropolitan). In this role, Jane led the product, mobile, video and online business approaches and oversaw the online technology, creative, marketing and online editorial divisions.

Within her career, Jane has held several senior positions with some of the biggest national and international technology lifestyle brands and initiatives, such as Microsoft, Vodafone and Earth Hour, where she has worked across technical, sales and marketing arms of the businesses. Amongst many marketing and business qualifications, Jane is also a (GAICD) of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a degree in Change Management from AGSM.
