Adrian Farouk elevated to CEO of Digitas APAC

Adrian Farouk, CEO of Publicis agencies Digitas & Epsilon ANZ has been promoted to CEO of Digitas across the Asia Pacific region, effective immediately.

Farouk’s expanded responsibilities will see him leading connected marketing agency, Digitas across multiple markets, while continuing to lead Epsilon, the data and tech platform, however only in ANZ.

In what is a newly created role, Farouk will continue to report to CEO of Publicis Groupe ANZ, Michael Rebelo, for his responsibilities in the region, with a “dotted-line” to Jane Lin-Baden, managing partner of Publicis Group APAC and executive sponsor of Digitas in the region.

Farouk said of his appointment: “Digitas is one of the fastest growing agency networks within Publicis Groupe across APAC which, under Jane’s stewardship, has grown across 15 markets. I’m thrilled to accept the challenge and connect the markets to drive the brand to new heights.”

His expanded role will see Farouk overseeing the development of Digitas’ activities in the APAC region, . In the past 2 years, Digitas has expanded its presence in the region from 6 to 15 markets.

Lin-Baden said of Farouk:  “He is known as a credible and charismatic leader who is able to motivate his team and advance the entire digital marketing industry. Under his leadership, Digitas ANZ has been a shining example of quality work and innovation in the region. I am sure Adrian will bring fresh perspectives to Digitas APAC.”

Farouk has two decades of industry experience in marketing and advertising, spending almost the last ten years within Publicis Groupe. He has been at Digitas since 2012, joining LBi, the agency then merging with Digitas, and subsequently rebranding from DigitasLBi to Digitas in 2018. He took up a second CEO role in June last year, adding Epsilon to his remit.

In May, Digitas Australia managing director, Ian Gough was announced to be leaving the agency for a new role at WPP in London. Rebecca Zemunik was then announced as new managing director, taking up the role last month.
