Adroll reverses Sydney wind down with new hires

Four months after largely winding up its Australian operations, advertising retargeting platform Adroll has started hiring for its Sydney office.

The two small business focused roles at Adroll’s Sydney office – for an account manager and a salesperson – have been advertised after incoming company president Scott Grifis announced a focus on emerging companies.

At the time of last month’s announcement, Grifis flagged ‘challenger brands’ as being a focus for the company: “We’re thrilled to unveil the next generation of AdRoll, complete with the first of many exciting new capabilities that empower ambitious businesses with the platform to challenge established brands and confidently grow their business.”

Marius Smyth, AdRoll’s EMEA and APAC vice president, also emphasised a greater focus on the small business sector, saying at the time of Grifis’ announcement: “Today marks an evolution in our approach as we level the playing field for our customers in EMEA and APAC.

“Up until now, the odds have not been stacked in favour of ambitious commerce brands in these regions. Established brands in the space often have endless resources, budgets, and teams to win the market. That is all about to change.”

Mumbrella has invited AdRoll to comment on its plans for its APAC operations and Sydney staffing, but is yet to receive a reply.
