Aegis digital agency Vivid Group has opened offices in Sydney and Brisbane, building on its presence in Perth and Melbourne.

The expansion is a result of strong growth over the past 12 months, the agency has said.

Vivid won 20 new clients in 2011 including Echo Entertainment, Carnival Cruise Lines, HBF, Coates Hire, Woodside Energy and St John Ambulance, taking the agency’s headcount to 50 people.

Vivid group MD Piers Hogarth-Scott, who joined the company last year after a stint at Community Engine, said: “2011 was a fantastic year for Vivid, with several significant new client wins allowing us to grow the team by around 20% and extend our presence in the eastern states.”

Hogarth-Scott will be based in Sydney, and is recruiting new staff.

Behan Gifford, formerly of Sydney digital agency Amnesia Razorfish, will head up the Brisbane office as senior account director and report to Hogarth-Scott.

In Perth, Cecily O’Neill joins as national business development manager, having recently worked as technology solutions business CSG. Katrina Youdale joins as client services director from Mindbox, a boutique media agency in Sydney, and before that, head of digital at Oddfellows.

In Melbourne, Mark Suttie has been appointed senior account director. Suttie was previously communications director at GPY&R and head of marketing at The Merino Company.

Luke Littlefield, CEO of Aegis Media Pacific, said: “By cementing Vivid’s presence in all cities where Aegis Media is based in Australia, we can provide group clients with access to additional interactive services opportunities with our existing client base as well as opening up new opportunities for the group with the Vivid service offering.”

Aegis has been busy in the first few months of the new year, having relaunched Vizeum in Sydney, merged Visual Jazz and Isobar and launched innovation unit, Jumptank.
