AFL Brownlow Medal count hands Seven a Monday night win

Seven dominated Monday night with an average audience share of 30.5% with the help the 2017 AFL Brownlow Medal.

The award count attracted 1.089m metro viewers across Seven and 7mate, and was placed second across the key advertising demographics – the 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s.

Despite attracting 1.283m in the capital cities, the event was unable to defeat Nine’s The Block with topped the night and the key advertising demographics, with a metro audience of 1.122m and 1.663m nationally.

Earlier on in the evening, the 2017 AFL Brownlow Medal report carpet arrivals attracted 675,000 metro viewers.

Seven’s share was more than 10 percentage points ahead of Nine, which collected a share of 18.6%. Ten’s share was 11.8%, ABC had a share of 9.6% and SBS’ share was 4.5%.

Running in the same time slot was Ten’s Australian Survivor, which managed 625,000 metro viewers and 827,000 nationally, placing third in the key ad demographics.

In Sydney and Brisbane on Seven, Highway Patrol collected 384,000 metro viewers.

On the ABC, Australian Story attracted 642,000 metro viewers, while Four Corners had a metro audience of 432,000.

Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? achieved 579,000 metro viewers in the later time slot, and featured in the top five across all key ad demographics.

Nationally, the show had 816,000 viewers.

In the 6pm news battle, Seven nabbed a win off Nine, with 1.006m metro viewers ahead of 978,000.
