AFL to sell Premiership Cup ingot in online auction

Ignot AFL campaignThe AFL has launched an advertising campaign about the auction of  an ingot forged from the 2013 AFL Premiership Cup.

Fans will be able to  bid on the precious metal created from approximately 42.2 grams of the metal left behind when the 2013 cup is forged. It will be sold to the highest bidder online via the campaign website.

The campaign was created by GPY&R Melbourne, who claimed that if it sells for more than $2113.10 it will become the world’s most precious metal, over gold, silver and platinum.

The ingot features at the centre of a screen print commemorating the 2013 final and is part of this year’s AFL Finals ‘Witness Greatness’ campaign to promote the 2013 Toyota AFL Finals series.

Proceeds from the sale will go to the AFL’s official charity for tackling youth homelessness, Ladder.
