Taute himself joined Air Asia from the New South Wales state government last year, having worked for both Transport for NSW and, like Quinn, for the state tourist body.

In his new role, Taute will also be responsible for the PR and communications of the Air Asia and Air Asia X group of airlines along with the company’s lifestyle brands which include AirAsia Big Loyalty, travel360.com, Vidi, BigPay, RedCargo Logistics, Rokki, and Ourshop.

Quinn, who will be based in Sydney, said:  “I’m delighted to be joining the world’s best low cost airline as it continues to expand its global network.

“It’s a particularly exciting time to be a part of the Air Asia family here in Australia as we prepare to launch two new routes, Perth to Lombok and Brisbane to Bangkok, next month.”

Prior to Destination NSW, Quinn worked for the Queensland government as principal media advisor for the Commonwealth Games 2018 and has held communications management roles at Perth Airport.
