Air New Zealand introduces Kiwi bird Pete

Air New Zealand has introduced Pete the Kiwi bird who has a desire to fly despite not having wings.

After discovering Air New Zealand’s services: business premier, premium economy, economy and skycouch, Pete goes from being a flightless bird to a frequent flyer.

The 30-second ad follows the same format of Dave the Goose’s Air New Zealand ads, however instead of explaining why he is flying in a plane as a substitute for his wings, he says “I found a way to fly”.

Unlike Dave the Goose, who travels with Air New Zealand to go overseas to Los Angeles and Buenos Aires, Pete the Kiwi bird is returning home from overseas travels in the US and Canada.

“It’s like New Zealand in the sky,” Pete says.

Air New Zealand has used its native frequent flyer to promote a refreshed website showing the best fares, ways to fly and where to fly to.

Host Sydney is Air New Zealand’s creative agency of record.
