Airbnb consolidates creative account with Wieden+Kennedy globally

Airbnb has consolidated its creative account globally, appointing Wieden+Kennedy as its agency of record around the world.

The appointment means TBWA Australia will no longer be Airbnb Australia’s agency of record.

TBWA was not invited to take part in the pitch process.

The pitch was between Wieden+Kennedy and DDB, with Wendy Clark, CEO for North America, leading the DDB pitch and global CCO Colleen DeCourcy leading the pitch for Wieden+Kennedy.

The global CMO for Airbnb, Jonathan Mildenhall, said he was delighted to confirm the appointment.

“Both Wieden+Kennedy and DDB developed outstanding thinking but W+K’s creative work has shown us a very compelling community voice that we know will take our creative output on to the next level.”

Wieden+Kennedy’s DeCourcy said: “We are a company that lives its values which are centered on people, creativity, and daring to do things that have never been done before.

“We are inspired because we believe that 21st-century brands are judged by what they do and the value they create for people.”

TBWA will conclude working with the brand at the end of the year .

Earlier in the year Clemenger BBDO Melbourne was engaged by the brand to complete the ‘Until We All Belong’ campaign.

TBWA have been approached for comment.
