Akkomplice hires new general manager

Indie creative agency Akkomplice has hired a new general manager in Linda Monique, ahead of its tenth anniversary in March, Mumbrella can reveal.

She joins the agency with a richly varied background, not from the typical agency pathway.

Most recently, Monique was the founder of Australian almond milk company, Almo Milk. She recently sold the business.

Prior to launching Almo, she worked in advisory roles for local and global brands including Fisher & Paykel, Coles, Apple and Walmart.

“My journey to this role has been anything but normal, but Akkomplice is not a normal sort of agency, so it feels like a natural home for my entrepreneurial passion,” Monique said.

“The agency Kenny [Hill] has built is not afraid to do things differently, and that continues to pay off for his ambitious clients.”

Kenny Hill, founder and CEO of Akkomplice, said: “When Linda told me she was returning to Melbourne from Europe and eager to shake things up with a new venture, I jumped at the opportunity to bring her onboard.

“Linda is a unique force and has an incredible talent for ambitious solutions coupled with a deep experience of commercial strategy, which our clients love tapping into,” he added.

The pair have collaborated on various projects in the past, including new product development and design thinking for Kellogg’s, a client of Akkomplice.

Monique said 2024 will be “do or die” for companies and brands in Australia, and she’s excited for the agency to help brands survive.

“Evolve, innovate or face imminent decline,” she said.

“Diminishing margins, increased supply chain issues, reduced consumer spending… Never has there been a time where innovative marketing is more critical.”

The agency has had a cracker 12 months, winning a suite of new clients including Sorbent, Slater & Gordon and Grove Juice. Earlier this week, it launched new work for Slater & Gordon, building on its existing ‘We’ll take it from here’ brand positioning.

It also recently launched ‘Get up to some good’ for Grove Juice – marking its first work for the brand.
