Alan Jones set to return to 2GB on Monday
Alan Jones, Radio presenter for Sydney’s 2GB, is set to return to air next Monday having been on indefinite leave due to ill health.
In his absence Ray Hadley has been filling in for the breakfast show, announcing Jones’ return on air on March 27 in today’s show.
“Alan’s back here, bigger and better on Monday,” Hadley said at the end of the program.
The shock jock was due to start on March 6 but extended his sick leave until later this month.
On November 21 last year Jones took indefinite leave for a back surgery, which then extended after he underwent further neck and arm operations in January. The ratings for 2GB has subsequently dropped in Jones’ absence.
At the end of last year, 2GB saw its lowest share in almost a decade with Jones’ breakfast show sliding by 2.4 share points from 16.9% to 14.5%.The most recent survey saw 2GB’s breakfast share drop 1.6 points to 12.9% from its previous 14.5% share.
It may be old news, but google The Parrot and John Laws ‘Cash For Comment’. just to remind one of the utter personal greed. Ugh.
