Alan Jones takes breakfast slot at 2CC as Tim Shaw is moved to drive

Canberra talkback station 2CC will only air one locally-produced weekday program now, with the station shifting breakfast host Tim Shaw to the 3-6pm drive slot and putting 2GB’s The Alan Jones Breakfast Show in the breakfast slot.

The station already airs syndicated content from 2GB, including The Ray Hadley Morning Show, which it will be extending by an hour with the new lineup.

Breakfast producer Eddie Williams will stay on the produce The Tim Shaw Drive Show while current drive EP Daniel Pizarro will finish as of July 12.

2CC is co-owned by Capital Radio Network and Grant Broadcasters.

The drive slot previously contained Talking Canberra, which Richard Perno took the helm of in January 2018. Both Perno and ex-2GB broadcaster Chris Smith are still listed as hosts on the 2CC website, but their respective pages give 404 errors.

Smith was dropped by Macquarie Media-owned 2GB last week following weeks of speculation and Smith commenting on air about his ongoing negotiations with management. Steve Price will take his slot.
