Alex Proyas joins Kimble Rendall at ADG conference

The Australian Directors Guild conference has confirmed Australian director Alex Proyas will join Kimble Rendall in a session titled Harnessing the Power of Genre Filmmaking.

In what is set to be one of the most compelling sessions of the upcoming Australian Directors Guild (ADG) conference, it was confirmed today that internationally acclaimed Australian director Alex Proyas will join Kimble Rendall “In Conversation”.

Alex, who wrote and directed the cult classic Dark City and directed The Crow, Garage Days I, Robot and Knowing is currently in production on Gods of Egypt, to star Gerard Butler, Geoffrey Rush, Nikolaj Coster Waldau and Brenton Thwaites amongst others. Kimble Rendall’s recent film Bait 3D was the most successful Australian release ever in China. 

In a session titled Harnessing the Power of Genre Filmmaking, Kimble will talk with Alex Proyas about career, sci-fi films and working on the world stage.

Harnessing the Power of Genre Filmmaking is the final Conference plenary session on Friday November 8 from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

The 2013 ADG Conference – “Directing in the Digital Age”  – will be held at Sydney’s Sebel Pier One hotel from November 6 to 8. An opening night function on November 6 will be followed by two full days of conference sessions.
