Allan ‘Jo’ Johnston lends support to Gut Foundation’s fight against bowel cancer

The Gut Foundation and advertising veteran John Singleton are launching the second installment of a bowel cancer TV campaign, with the latest spot written by Allan Johnston, founder of Mojo.

The community service announcement, which is aimed at increasing awareness of the unneccessarily high death toll from bowel cancer, coincides with the launch of Bowel Cancer Awareness Week in Australia, June 6 – 13.

The 30 second CSA developed and funded by Singleton depicts a sculptured human body and warns, “If you are over 40, you are at risk… when you get to 40, get to the doctor. Cancer detected early is potentially curable.”

The spot is a departure from the first campaign launched by the Gut Foundation in December which featured scenes set in Sydney reminiscent of live TV coverage of the 2001 attack on the World Trade Center in New York.
