American Express and Facebook join Mumbrella Finance Marketing Summit

The role that mobile has played in breaking long-trusted marketing tools will be the focus of a session at the 2017 Mumbrella Finance Marketing Summit where American Express will reveal how it has recalibrated its approach to digital.

American Express vice president of acquisition, Trudie Newcomb, will be joined in the session by Facebook’s group industry director Paul McCrory as they dissect how American Express is finding new pathways to new customers and the role that mobile is increasingly playing in the marketing mix.

With more than 20 years experience across the financial services industry, Newcomb has spent the past decade at American Express in a variety of management, marketing and partner management roles in the consumer credit card business.

Along with acquisition, Newcomb also oversees the co-brand alliance with David Jones, card member cross sell and the First Year Engagement program, and has led her team to achieve a number of global firsts in digital innovation.

Newcomb and McCrory – whose session is titled The Last Days of the Last Click – join a host of other speakers and brands already announced for the Summit including Westpac chief marketing officer Martine Jager, IAG chief marketing officer Brent Smart and Google head of financial services Colin Barnard.

The Summit will also see the release of exclusive research by Yell Creative on the state of Australia’s financial services brands.
