Andrew Da Silva departs MediaCom as head of the travel team

Mediacom’s head of travel, Andrew Da Silva, has departed after seven years with the agency.

Posting to LinkedIn, Da Silva said: “MediaCom has been without doubt some of the best years of my life and both the company and the people will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Da Silva had his last day at MediaCom yesterday

“It hasn’t always been easy, but I leave with a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that I always gave my absolute best no matter what. I’m sad, proud and excited all at once.”

Mumbrella understands, Da Silva left the business to pursue his own interests and there will be no direct replacement for Da Silva as his clients have been aligned with other client groups internally.

Da Silva joined MediaCom in 2010 as an executive of client communications planning and was promoted in 2012 to a manager of client communications planning.

In 2014 he was given the title of director of client communications planning.

During his time as MediaCom Australia’s head of travel, Da Silva worked across clients and projects including the Carnival Corporation, Uber, Avis and Budget, Agoda, American Airlines, Brand USA and Westpac’s Air Rescue Program.

In September, Da Silver founded ‘Finding Da Silva Lining’, a professional coaching company “aimed at developing junior and mid-level talent”.

Just yesterday MediaCom’s CEO Sean Seamer departed to join Supercars motor racing corporation, while in October, MediaCom lost the CUB account which moved to PHD.

However, in September the agency won the Victorian government media account.

Da Silva and MediaCom had not responded to Mumbrella at the time of publishing.
