Andrew Murray promoted to investment director of UM Sydney

Andrew Murray has been promoted to the position of investment director of UM Sydney.

The announcement:

Andrew Murray has been appointed investment director of UM Sydney. His appointment is effective immediately and he will report to UM’s national investment director, Sev Griffiths.

Murray is one of UM’s home grown talents and has been with the agency for nine years. In the past 18 months he has led investment portfolios for many of UM Sydney’s non-Government clients, including Taubmans, MasterCard, ING and Brown Forman.

“Andrew has been most impressive in his leadership with clients and internal teams where he has had key responsibilities,” said Griffiths. “With such a good performance across his current client portfolio, it is a perfect time to give Andrew a broader stage and I look forward to working closer with him.”

Griffiths is UM Sydney’s most recent investment director and retained the role as she took on the national investment portfolio in June last year. She said that with UM’s success in 2012 and a substantially expanded client portfolio, the appointment of a Sydney investment director was an important step in managing increased investment decision-making.

Mat Baxter, CEO of UM Australia, said that promoting long-term talent into key positions was a highly important aspect in HR management. “Andrew represents the finest talent available in the industry, so to see him taking on this important role is hugely rewarding.”

Among Murray’s key responsibilities will be the quality control and cross leadership of UM Sydney’s traders, trading manages and investment directors who work on the agency’s non-Government clients.
