Andrology Australia urges men to ‘talk about your tackle’
Andrology Australia is encouraging men to be more open about their sexual health in an ad featuring former AFL stars Matthew and Alan Richardson.
“If you are having problems with your tackle, the longer you say nothing, the greater the chances are there’ll be nothing your doctor can do about it,” reads the narrator in the spot, created by Wilson Everard.
Spirit Films Producer Emily Green: “It’s a very real issue, but one which is rarely discussed between men, and we’re hoping this campaign will change that. The upcoming AFL season presents the perfect timing to reach the campaign’s audience, with the TVC set to air from April 13.”
According to the campaign press release, the “simplicity of the message combined with the realistic awkwardness of the scene resonated strongly with the target audience” in focus groups.
The 45-second spot will also be supported by radio, online and print.

Great ad. That’s all I’ve got to say.

As a person who suffers from testosterone deficiency disease, I strongly urge all men to get checked. You don’t have to have “small tackle” to have the issue – I have four children and was sick during 2008 with glandular fever and thyroid disease before this was discovered. I was an adult sufferer, not a child sufferer.
I’m on a “trouche” – which dissolves on the gum of the mouth and have never, ever felt better.
Also to any dads – you might think its a bit wrong, but it’s not – if you’re worried about your son’s development around the puberty age, get them checked. Their health is #1. It might seem like you’ve got paranoia that your kid isn’t big enough for your liking downstairs, but it’s better to be checked before they go through later life with the illness and its side-effects.

Who knew that Rick Moranis was Matthew Richardson’s dad?
Seriously though, good ad, and good subject, because us guys need to get to the same level as women on addressing health issues specific to their gender.
message of the advert well executed, and I like the use of real AFL father and son combo…
