Anh’s Brush with Fame returns for third season

Anh Do’s program Anh’s Brush with Fame will return this July.

The announcement:

What do Terri Irwin, Adam Goodes and Dr Karl Kruszelnicki have in common? All three household names will appear as guests on the third instalment of the hugely popular series Anh’s Brush with Fame, returning to ABC and iview on Wednesday 18 July at 8pm.

Beloved comedian, author, and artist Anh Do returns to capture a whole new line-up of extraordinary personalities, including screen legend Sigrid Thornton, superstar basketballer Lauren Jackson, prolific song-writer and performer John Williamson, peace campaigner Gill Hicks, revered broadcaster Carrie Bickmore and ground-breaking surgeon Munjed Al Muderis.

In this nine-part series, Anh, who was 2017’s recipient of the Archibald Prize People’s Choice Award for his portrait of actor and Indigenous activist Jack Charles, combines his passion for painting with his love of conversation, familiarising himself with his guest’s history while capturing them on canvas. Each of Anh’s sitters speaks about their life, divulging humorous and heartfelt anecdotes, as well as detailing their more private trials and tribulations, ultimately informing how Anh portrays them.

Audiences share in the guests’ personal photos and videos, as Anh and his subject go on an emotional journey, ending in the big reveal of their painting. Upon the completion of the portrait, how will his guest react?

Anh’s Brush with Fame is nominated for its second successive year in the Most Popular Entertainment Program category at this year’s 60th TV Week Logie Awards.

Anh’s Brush with Fame screens Wednesdays, starting on 18 July at 8pm on ABC and ABC iview.
