Annalect names PHD’s Schalk van der Sandt as head of Melbourne operations

Omnicom’s Annalect has named a head of Melbourne operations in Schalk van der Sandt, who joins from sister agency PHD, where he has served as head of digital for seven years.

In his new role, van der Sandt will oversee a team of eight to bring data and technology solutions to clients across the PHD, OMD, and Hearts and Science agencies.

“Schalk is an excellent fit to contribute to Annalect’s continued growth in Victoria. It is important to have diversity of both experience and thought in this type of business and Schalk has very strong and impressive agency and client understanding,” CEO of Annalect, Australia and New Zealand, Darren Stein, said.

“He brings two of my favourite traits to the table: curiosity and authenticity. In addition, he has oodles of common sense that he can actually apply. We’re expecting big things from the man but look forward to him exceeding our expectations.”

Van der Sandt will commence in the role tomorrow.

“I’m very excited to join the team at Annalect and help take the organisation to the next level,” he said of his appointment.
