Another sub-million Thursday in the ratings
Not a single TV show drew 1m viewers after 7pm on Thursday – for the second week running.
For Seven and Nine the evening was a story of a gradual drop in viewers
Seven News at 6pm pulled in 1.142m viewers while Today Tonight at 6.30pm fell to 1.056m, according to overnight metro numbers from OzTam. This fell to 886,000 for Home And Away, 787,000 for Grey’s Anatomy and 569,000 for Desperate Housewives.
For Nine, a 978,000 audience for Nine News became 899,000 for A Current Affair and 821,000 for RBT. The audience then dropped again for Getaway which pulled in 736,000, before perking up slightly with 855,000 for CSI.
Meanwhile, Ten started badly and built. 6PM With George Negus pulled in 379,000, while the 6.30pm Evening News pulled in 377,000. The audience returned for The 7PM project with 747,000, before rising again for The Biggest Loser to 957,000.
There were no obvious signs of the audience turning to the secondary channels instead, with Neighbours on Eleven doing best with 293,000.

Stopped watching Houswives when they changed it from 8.30 Mondays. 7pm project is BTN for slightly older minds. Only comedy on last night was Biggest Loser and that sucks worse than 2.5 men.

Actually if you take into account time-shifting then last week’s Biggest Loser just made it to 1million – with a 5% increase from last Thursday’s overnight figures. Timeshifting accounts for significant differences – last week’s Desperate Housewives had a 21% increase on overnight audience once timeshifted viewing is counted… Private Practice had a 34% increase!
