APG event to discuss the randomness of marketing

To be held on March 31 in Melbourne, the Account Planning Group is holding an event to air views on the randomness of marketing, with Trinity P3’s Darren Woolley.

The announcement:

Australia’s Account Planning Group (APG) will be holding its Melbourne’s Ideas Exchange on March 31, featuring Trinity P3’s Darren Woolley and Anuj Mehra, JWT planner and a gold winner at last year’s APG awards.

Darren will be discussing his view on the randomness of the marketing landscape; its fragmentation and specialisation, coupled with rigid and fragmented agency structures stifle creativity and ultimately let customers down. He’ll be encouraging all to share their views on if and why creative and innovative thinking is difficult in today’s organisations.

Anuj is set to provide insight into the thinking that won him a gold award for his paper on ‘Democratising Literature’, for the Melbourne Writers’ Festival. The campaign’s ‘stories from every angle’ focused on encouraging people to discover more about a piece of writing or a writer that inspired them, and featured the much discussed ‘Tweet Writer’, allowing Twitter users to see their tweets published as a book.

The Melbourne APG Exchange will be held at Richmond Public House from 6pm on March 31, RSVP’s go to kate@communicationscouncil.org.au
