Media company APN has appointed a corporate advisory expert as director and chairman of the board.
The chairmanship of APN is Peter Hunt’s first role in the media sector. Hunt replaces former chairman Gavin O’Reilly, who resigned in April 2012.
Hunt was previously co-founder and chairman of corporate advisory firm Greenhill Caliburn.
Hunt has over 25 years of experience in advising corporate clients and governments, and was awarded the membership of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2010 for services to the philanthropic sector.
He is chairman of Grameen Foundation Australia, a trustee of the Anindilyakwa Indigenous Mining Trust and a member of the Advisory Councils of Mission Australia and the Centre for Social Impact.
APN deputy chairman, Ted Harris said in a press release: “Peter is the ideal chairman for APN’s next phase of growth. His expertise in successfully guiding companies through complex change is outstanding.”
Hunt’s appointment is effective from Monday 3 September 2012.
