APN News & Media shuffles executive team, promotes Tony Kendall to chief revenue officer

APN News & Media has announced a reshuffle of its executives, promoting Tony Kendall to the new position of chief revenue officer of the group, with Rob Atkinson, current CEO of AdShel, replacing Kendall as CEO of Australian Radio Network (ARN).

The newly created group role of chief revenue officer will see Kendall lead the new business development team.

Atkinson is set to develop ARN’s multi-platform offering to advertisers and audiences in his new role as CEO. In a statement, APN noted Atkinson had “transformed [Adshel], culminating in a record year for both revenue and EBITDA”.

Former chief commercial officer of Adshel, Mike Tyquin, will replace Atkinson as Adshel CEO overseeing the New Zealand and Australian market.

The appointments aim to bolster the company’s media operations in the market and integrate value across the group.

Ciaran Davis, CEO and managing director of APN, said: “These appointments are crucial to our future growth and will ensure we can meet the challenges of the competitive and evolving media environment.”

The three appointments take effect in April.

In other appointments to the team former Bauer Media employee Justin Stone has been hired into the newly created role of director of research and insights. Emma Hogan has also been appointed as chief people officer, joining from her previous role as executive director of consumer experience at Foxtel.
