APN takes on Sydney Airport’s indoor displays from AdShel

APN has taken over Adshel’s advertising sites at Sydney Airport.

The announcement:

APN News & Media Ltd and Clear Channel International, Adshel’s Joint venture owners, have agreed to realign the marketing of the internal advertising assets at Sydney Airport’s International Terminal (T1).

As at 1st January 2011, APN Outdoor is responsible for the marketing of Sydney Airport’s T1 internal advertising displays (currently with Adshel). This is in addition to the external Billboards in the International and Domestic Terminal precincts.

Richard Herring, APN’s Group Radio & Outdoor Chief Executive says: “Uniting T1’s advertising assets enables us to offer advertisers and agencies more comprehensive campaign packages, not just at Sydney Airport but nationally by combining Sydney Airport’s offering with APN Outdoor’s other airfield assets in Australia. Adshel has successfully built a strong business with key international and Australian advertisers in recent years and we look forward to taking it to its next strength through consolidated airport sales.”

Steve McCarthy, Adshel’s Chief Executive Officer adds: “Airport advertising sales requires a focused approach on local as well as international advertisers, agencies and specialist buyers. This arrangement empowers Adshel to refocus on its core street furniture format and the development of new brand engagement opportunities with the 90% of Australians which Adshel reaches every fortnightly campaign period.”
