Applications to attend TEDxSydney now open
Annual ideas festival TEDxSydney has opened up the application process to attend this year’s event as a member of the live audience.
Those interested in attending the full day event on April 26. have until February 28 to submit their application for a seat with successful applications to be notified via email on March 3.
TEDxSydney licensee Remo Giuffré said in a statement: “We are excited to be opening up applications for TEDxSydney 2014. Once again, it is shaping up to be quite a day and we look forward to sharing it with the TEDxSydney community.
“We’re expecting a large number of applicants this year based on the event’s popularity in 2013 – we had over 35,000 watching last year – so, I encourage enthusiasts to jump online and submit an application as soon as possible.”
Live attendance at the Sydney Opera House costs $250 per person and delivers a full day of talks and performances, food and beverages, a goodie bag and an invitation to the after party.
Application forms can be submitted via the TEDxSydney website.
“Applications”???
Just when you thought human arrogance had reached the stratosphere, along comes TEDx, a.k.a. “pissweak TED”, to astound the world with its hubris.
Fill out the form; ensure you match-up with the inner city, lefty groupthink criteria – God forbid there would be diversity of thought at play.
And no, in case you’re wondering, I’ve never applied – why validate such an insulting attitude towards an audience?
Time for TEDx to have an attitude rethink.

I love the ironic use of hubris and arrogance in labelling a conference you don’t attend. We’ll all laugh over that one at the weekly groupthink meeting at a cheeky little bar in Surry Hills – very funny and post-post-modern. Now off to get the beard trimmed
